Delete your account

You can delete your Chit account yourself, in the app:

1. Open the Chit app and go to Settings.
2. Tap Delete account (at the bottom) and confirm.

Deletion is immediate: you're signed out everywhere and the account can't be recovered.

What gets deleted

• Your account (name, email, Google account link) and push tokens.
• All sending permissions, in both directions: your chitters disappear from your people's app, and you disappear from theirs.
• Open invites to your chitters.

The content of your notes needs no deleting: message bodies are removed from our servers as soon as they've printed (see the privacy policy). What a chitter has already printed exists only as paper in its owner's home. Anonymised delivery records (that a note was sent on a date) are kept so other people's history stays intact.

No access to the app anymore?

Write to privacy@chit.ink with the subject "Delete my Chit account", from the email address you used to sign in, and we'll do it for you within 30 days — usually much sooner.
